Self Representation Project
Step 4 - Exploring & Experimenting
I used some different materials today, I used chalk on black construction paper to sketch designs of what the chalk board would look like when I'm done and I also sketched on regular paper with pen and pencil. I don't really like sketching with pen, it's a lot harder to do than using pencil. I also used charcoal and I find that it's very similar to regular chalk but a bit different.

Step 3 - Planning & Focusing
I really liked the first thumbnail sketch and some of the aspects of the others like the plant type designs in the third sketch so I will definitely incorporate some of the other things in my final sketch.

Step 2 - Imagining & Generating
Here are some thumbnail sketches of some of my first ideas. There would be a lot more lyrics just filling in small spots but over all that's what it would look like or similar to that.
Self Representation Project
Step 1 - Challenging & Inspiring
My first thoughts about this project is that it's going to have to make you think definitely about you, yourself. And it allows for people to really focus on aspects about them selfs that they might not know yet. I don't really have any concerns when it comes to this project, it seems like a good project that won't be to difficult for me to do. There are some materials I'm interested in using, like chalk. I have a full chalk board wall in my bedroom at my house and every few months i wipe it clean and redo it. It's mostly song lyrics and doodles that represent me and my personality. So I'm pretty set on doing that for this project. This is my chalkboard right now before I redo it..
Henna
So on Friday me and a few others in my art class decided it would be cool to do Henna. The henna shown in the pictures is my art teacher Mrs. Rose. I took pictures as I went and it turned out in the end sooo beautiful and everyone seemed to be really impressed with it! So that of course made me very pleased with it :)
Final Woodland Tiles
I finished the woodland tiles and they turned out way better then I expected, they actually look really nice and my teacher mrs. Rose bought them for $20 for relay for life. So I had fun making the tiles and got experience on how to carve and paint clay precisely.

Woodland Tiles
For Relay For Life (a charity for cancer) and also an assignment we made tiles with clay and then carved and glazed them. I chose I picture from the Internet and used it as an idea, or an outline. It was two birds sitting amongst some plants in the water, I changed the picture up a bit to fit the tiles and add my own creativity to them. A few weeks ago we had used pre made tiles that weren't carved just to get a feel of how hard it is to work with glade which it is. I like the way that my tiles turned out, I think I did a good job! (This picture is before their put in the kiln.)
Scratch Art
This time our assignment was to pick a picture and use scratch art and etching to show the importance of lights and darks. I found it difficult at first but I eventually finished the picture and it ended up turning out really nice! I also learned How to show the textures of the image and use different techniques to do that.

Lego Cathedral Project
We had an assignment over march break where we had to build a French cathedral out of Legos. It had to include features of a real French cathedral like flying buttresses, a rose window, arches, and stain glass windows. My group rebuilt the Beauvais Cathedral which was a church that had collapsed because when they were building it they wanted it to be the highest, back in gothic times the town with the highest cathedral was considered to be the best town. I don't really think we did as well as we could have but it turned out pretty good anyway.
Music Art Project
I drew this picture because it represents my favourite musician, Ed Sheeran. In his video 'Give Me Love' there is a girl who is similar to an angel, she has the power to make people fall in love so throughout the video she is making people love and she is so envious of the love that she can give she wants it herself. I thinks it's really sad that she is able to give so much but not able to have it herself.

First Art Assignment
This is the first thing we had to do in art this term, cut out 2 eyes, 2 noses, and 2 mouths and draw them like the one cut out; these are the eyes
First Blog Post
I think that art is is an expression of what someone is thinking or feeling, lots of things can be used to express art like drawing, painting, sculpting etc. Me myself, I like to draw or do anything really that involves using your imagination and creativity.
I absolutely hate science and geography, their definitely not my sting suits but I consider myself to be fairly good at art and I enjoy it more than most other classes.
In art class this term I'd definitely like to do pointillism because we didn't have the chance to do it last year and it looks like I would like it. Maybe I'd also like to use clay to make a sculpture, I've never don that before but I'd really like to try and give it a try. All I know now is that I like drawing and being creative, so pretty much anything art wise that if like to try out. I'm not really that good at painting, I never was and most of my family is good at art.
